OPPS Update

Hey everyone,

As you may have noticed there have not been any matches posted on the schedule. I have up dated them now, but wanted to explain a little. We always try to get matches posted a month ahead of time, or more if possible, but can't always get that done due to not knowing exact dates for sure. The guys that put on our matches can't always commit to one day months in advance due to work or family obligations.

Anyway, you will see there are not any matches scheduled for May, however there are 2 in June (first and last weekend). May is a very busy month for a lot of people, as well as packed with other rifle matches in various places.

It has been a busy winter so far and we wanted to get some information out to everyone.

First off, just as in the years past you will have until January 31st to pay your OPPS dues. If you do not pay them by January 31st you will forfeit your spot as a member and will go on the waiting list to rejoin if there is one present.

Dues are $100 and should be mailed to:

Do Not try to pay Adam Roberts this year.

The OPPS business meeting is scheduled for Saturday January 20th @ 5:00 PM in Edmond Oklahoma.

We plan to cater a meal for everyone attending so if you get a survey in the near future asking if you are attending please respond.

Special Thanks to Members Tyler Lister & Jim Paul Brown the meeting will be held at:

MLB Consulting

3075 Willowood Road

Edmond, Oklahoma 73034

At this time all the current club officers are willing to serve another year with the exception of Adam Roberts who has served as the clubs treasurer since its inception. Thank You Adam for all of you help in that position!

Just FYI, Geordie Jamarik has expressed interest in the treasurer position but we will be taking nominations for this position & will be voting  that same night.

If there is anyone who would like to nominate or run for the other officer positions this will be done at this meeting as we will vote to accept all Officers for the 2018 year.

At this time the 2018 Club Match Schedule has not been ironed out yet but rest assured you will be notified of Club Match Dates when they become available.

Merry Christmas to each & everyone one of you and your families!

Scholarship match

Our annual Scholarship match was a great success this year! The club has raised over $5,000 to give out as scholarships to deserving young adults that will be selected by a committee that the applications were submitted to. For all of those that shot in the match and others that couldn't make it that made donations the OPPS would like to thank you!

Off to a good start!

The 2017 OPPS club series is officially under way. Tate Streater and crew put on a great match this past Sunday. Starting out with a train up for several new members in 10 degree weather, the match went well and thankfully the wind stayed down and let us have a great day to shoot. We ended the day with a shoot-off for 4th place between Austin Orgain and Justin Vinyard, fastest to clear the troop line. Austin edged Justin out by a couple seconds. Great shooting guys. HUGE thanks to Robin Smith for letting us use his place for the match!

Congrats to the top 5 of the day!

1st- TJ Allen, 2nd - Tate Streater, 3rd- Rick Reeves, 4th- Austin Orgain and 5th- Justin Vinyard

Community Support

OPPS hosted their first “Scholarship Match” in 2015.  Through this one day event, we were able to raise over $5000.  This was given to 3 individuals in college as the first ever OPPS scholarship.

We are scheduled to host the 2nd annual scholarship match in June of 2016.  We have a scholarship committee that picks recipients from applications received.
